Overview

Microsoft Designer is a graphic design and image editing app powered by generative AI (DALL-E). Users describe what they want and get customizable layouts with imagery and text — social posts, invitations, postcards, logos, banners — or edit photos with AI tools (restyle, background remove/blur, generative adjustments). It is a standalone web and mobile app that also integrates with Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, Photos). AI features consume monthly credits; Personal, Family, or Premium subscriptions provide up to 4X more credits. Full Designer access requires a personal (not enterprise/work/school) Microsoft 365 subscription. Stock videos and brand kits were removed in the October 20, 2025 editor migration and are not current features.
