Overview

Augment Code is an agentic software development platform from Augment Computing, Inc., positioned officially as "agentic software development at organizational scale" / "run your software factory". Its two pillars: an AI coding assistant with a "Context Engine" that analyzes entire codebases (semantic dependency analysis across large repositories; AI code review for GitHub pull requests), and "Cosmos", an agent orchestration platform for building software-factory loops — code review, ticket-to-PR, vulnerability remediation, incident response — with human-in-the-loop checkpoints, expert/agent templates, integrations (Slack, GitHub, Jira, CI) and shared organization knowledge/memory.

It offers CLI access, MCP and native tools, and runs on laptops, dev VMs (Codespaces/devcontainers), Augment's cloud, or the customer's cloud (AWS/GCP). IDE support on the official site includes VS Code and JetBrains.

Pricing is flat per month with no per-seat charge (up to 50 seats), per the official /pricing page: Standard — $20/month flat ($20/mo of usage included across LLM, Context Engine and compute; Cosmos, CLI, MCP and native tools, pay-as-you-go top-ups, SOC 2 Type II, no AI training on data); Business — $100/month flat ($100/mo of usage included, same feature set); Enterprise — custom (bespoke usage limits, volume-based annual discounts, SSO/OIDC/SCIM, CMEK, ISO 42001 compliance, dedicated support, no AI training). Usage is measured in dollars: LLM inference at the provider's public API list price plus a flat 40% service fee, plus Cosmos compute time, pooled across the team; top-ups are valid 12 months.

No free plan is listed on the official pricing page (all tiers paid); the pricing FAQ mentions "Trials and beta use". The official site claims SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 42001 compliance (company-claimed certifications).
